Just Kampers

Back in April 2015 we bought our first camper van, a 1973 Vw Westy. For any one who has never owned one of these old buses lets just say that the freedom they give you is like nothing you have ever experienced and in many cases so is the dent in your wallet 😉

We were already following loads of inspiring vanlife people on Instagram embarking on everything from trips to the seaside to trans-continental round the world trips in their campers. What most inspired us was the amazing places off the beaten track that could be accessed by people in campervans. That is when we came across the other side of Just Kampers. We had bought parts from them many times and always been pleased by their service but had no idea that they were so passionate about what they do. It seems like every other day they discover and share another story of epic adventure, community and vanlife. The amount of like minded people we have been introduced to both virtually and in real life is astonishing.

One such couple is TheRollingHome (seriously check them out). We went to their book launch in February and also had the pleasure of meeting Carolyn and Sean from just Kampers. Its Carolyn that searches out and shares all the awesome content you see on Instagram and Facebook! I don’t know how she does it but its a very unique talent! We got on famously and were totally on the same page when it came to the VW community and passion for VW’s!

Fast forward 5 months and we couldn’t wait to see them again and meet the JustKampers team on their open day as we knew it would be chilled and and have a real community feel…..we weren’t wrong!

What has surprised us being relative newbies to the campervan life is that everyone is so friendly, its good to see groups of friends and families all parked up having fun whilst their children are free to play in the fields in a safe environment, all whilst enjoying the vibe of the day and looking at the awesome array of vehicles turning up.

We were also given a glimpse in to the JK operations inside the warehouse, being the vw enthusiasts that I am i’ve never seen anything so cool, so many awesome parts (I was in heaven). I asked Carolyn what the grey painted parts were as there was a massive long row full of them, she explained that they were the panels they make in house and have painstakingly created new molds and jigs so that they can provide customers parts that fit extremely really well.

We especially enjoyed the Pizza, cocktails and coffee all being served from VW’s and having Andy from Farborough VW check over our bus, what that guys doesn’t know about VW’s isn’t worth knowing!!!

Thank you for such a lovely day out Just Kampers it is so nice to see a company striving to be better, adding to the community and keeping the legend alive!
