Images from Big Sur deserve their own blog post, because it was so stunning. The coastal road can be often closed, especially in winter due to bad weather so we appreciate that we managed to travel the length of the coast during the quiet season. And of course winter in California does not look like what we’re used to from Europe, so we enjoyed breakfast sitting in the sliding door and dinners by the campfire. One of the highlights was seeing elephant seals interact up close in their natural habitat.

We camped at Kirk Creek Campground which was probably the most beautiful campsite we have ever visited, we highly recommend it and unless you visit on a Wednesday in winter, it’s probably necessary to book in advance.
